The medicine of the seasons

This winter, my medicine has been deeply rooted in Mother Earth - working on grounding, nourishment and restorative self-care practices. Mother Earth has provided a dark - yet luminous - soft and feminine space to rest, replenish and integrate the lessons and healing from the cycle. She has held space for us to release our old and tired stories, and dissolve the inner and outer structures that no longer serve us. This process allows us to make space, prepare the ground - the soil - for the coming season.

New beginnings. Rebirth.

As the days lengthen and lighten, we are gently nudged into Spring. Mother Earth continued to hold us as we welcome the energy of Air - Father Wind (Tayta Wayra in the Andean mystical tradition). This primordial being breathes life into all existence as we make ourselves new and emerge from the fertile darkness, the womb of the Earth, to flower once again - bringing new aspects of ourselves into being.

Tayta Wayra cleanses us, uplifts is…bringing expansiveness and lightness. His energy empowers our capacity for rimay - the power of our voice and our soul’s expression.

As a regular practice -

Take time in your day (or night) to close your eyes and tune into your breath, allowing the powerful energy of air / wind to move around you and through you. Be in your breath. Let the medicine of Tayta Wayra dissolve or disperse any heaviness you might be feeling. Offer a blessing in return and ask it to be carried on the wind.

Bring your awareness to your throat centre - the seat of your voice, your soul’s authentic expression. Ask Tayta Wayra to cleanse and empower this energy centre, opening it to both give and receive - creating flow and ease in communication.

Over the coming months, connect with Tayta Wayra with this practice - working with this universal spirit being as a guide and ally for your own healing. Experience his playful, teasing nature and his raw and chaotic, destructive power!

Tayta Wayra will help you dismantle the fences and walls you’ve built that you’ve felt you needed to be safe, but in truth they block you from the gifts and experiences you would otherwise receive - allow this primordial force to support you as you open again, remembering the art of receiving.
